Pours a deep purplish red, with a thin white lace head around the top of the beer. The aroma just kicks you in the nostrils. As noted by the name, this beer is quite sour. Your get an initial blackberry jammy taste, followed by a lemon tart kick, similar to a warhead after it’s initial kick. It’s somewhat comparable to the tart you get from Upland’s fruited sours. Despite this, the beer is quite wonderful and an excellent example of a wild ale. New Glarus has always been able to come through with their fruit beers, and this is no different 100/100.
