I have been on a bit of a Kuhnhenn bender the past 12 months, so I was obviously very intrigued to try this one. I have to say, unless I’m blanking on something, this is my first stout aged in Irish whiskey. The beer pours that beautiful dark motor oil color. The nose on this screams Irish whiskey. I have to say, I am not a whiskey person, but it was interesting on the nose. Hearing what other had to say, I am assuming that a year on this beer has mellowed what used to be a much harsher nose. The taste though, is a lot more mellow compared to the nose. It tastes just like your ordinary BA Stout. It’s interesting, and definitely worth a try, but compared to the other beers Kuhnhenn has put out, this is on the lower end of the spectrum (88/100).
