Kuhnhenn Barrel-aged American Imperial Stout

Another one of the many Michigan beers I had the pleasure of trying this year thanks to some of the great people of Midwest. This was one of the 6 beers released by Kuhnhenn for their Winter Solstice event. This beer pours a jet-black color, with a little more carbonation compared to their other stouts. The amber lace quickly dissipates, leave a thin head along the outsides of my glass. The aroma gives off lots of chocolate with some coffee and a little bit of hops. The taste is quite nice, as I get a lot of the chocolate with some of that hops biting on the back-end. This is something I hope Kuhnhenn puts in the regular rotation, certainly doesn’t taste like 12.9%. Very different from their other big beers (90/100).
