This would be my second time trying Assassin. I had the 2013 vintage last year, and while it wasn’t bad, it was well below the level of Mornin Delight and KBBS for me. This beer poured a jet black color, with a quickly dissipating amber head. The beer gives off a strong chocolate nose, with a faint smell of the barrel character. The taste was super fudgey, dark fruits, but really just that chocolate taste echoing throughout. The beer was kinda disappointing for me, not to sound like a snobby ass, but I was just expecting so much more from this beer. While it was still a really good beer, it is still not on that level of TG’s other offerings (92/100).
